Ramaria sandaracina var. chondrobasis is distinguished by its large size, orange to orangish yellow coloration, gelatinous context tissues, and clamped hyphae. Ramaria flavigelatinosa and R. gelatiniaurantia are nearly indistinguishable from it in the field, but both lack clamp connections.
