Densely clustered in montaine and costal coniferous forests.
Unknown.
Phaeocollybia scatesiae can be distinguished by its densely clustered fruiting habit with many differently aged fruitbodies emerging from one point (often producing over 100 fruitbodies in one single mound), highly glutinous, pale to dark yellow-brown caps, hollow stipes, and orangish red stains on lower stipe.
