Solitary, scattered, or clustered in woodchips, rich soil, and waste places. Fairly common.
Unknown.
Parasola conopilea can be distinguished by its conical, reddish (when young) hygrophanous cap and yellowish stipe.
Parasola conopilea and Psathyrella atrospora may be synonomous. More research and data is needed to clarify this situtation.
