C.H. Peck (1833-1917) was the the Botanist for the state of New York from 1883 through 1913. During his life he described 2734 new species or varieties of fungi. Much of Peck's most important work are in the publications "New Species of Fungi" (many papers from the 1870s to 1913) and "Report of the Botanist" (or similar titles, published every year from 1867 to 1912).
