Tricholoma sejunctum
Mém. Soc. Émul. Montbéliard, Sér. 2 5: 76. 1872.
Common Name: none
For description see Shanks, Bessette et al., & 'California Mushrooms'.
Scattered to gregarious in duff in coniferous forests, or in mixed woods; fruiting from fall to mid-winter in coastal forests.
Unknown, possibly poisonous.
Tricholoma sejunctum can be distinguished by the viscid, greenish yellow to yellow cap with black radiating fibrils, white to grayish yellow gills, and a white stipe with yellow splotches. Tricholoma equestre is similar but lacks the black fibrils on the cap and has more evenly yellow gills and stipe.
It is possible that Tricholoma subsejunctum, a species described from North America, is a better name for our California taxon, but more data/research is needed to clarify the situation.
