Uncommon, northern coastal California. Probably associated with manzanita (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) or possibly toyon (Heteromeles arbutifolia).
Unknown, but probably edible.
Leccinum largentii is very similar to Leccinum manzanitae, which is associated with madrone and manzanita and has a more viscid cap.
