Brother Alfred Brousseau

Brother Alfred Brousseau (1908-1988) was a respected mathematician and teacher at St. Mary's College of California in Moraga. In addition to his studies in mathematics (particularly in the field of Fibonacci sequences), Brother Alfred was an avid and thorough nature photographer. During the course of his life he took over 20,000 wildflower pictures plus several thousand photos of mushrooms. Currently over eleven thousand of the wildflower photos are available for viewing at the California Wildflowers site.

St. Mary's College holds the copyright to Brother Alfred's photos. Brother Eric Vogel is in charge of the collection; you can contact him at evogel@stmarys-ca.edu.
